URGENT NOTICE The primary purpose of this page is to save you grief from emotional and financial loss

The hole under the "D" in bottom right photo was a 3" tempered drywall screw that was ripped out with the missing chunks of hardwood from the corner of the crate. Notice the remaining case hardened screw (partially removed) that secures the lid, was screwed in, yet is bent and a corner is ground off. I was not able to duplicate this damage to a same type crate until I dropped it from the top of the castle (18 feet or 6 meters) This case was made of glued and screwed hardwood, and had been all around the world. It is a design I made from experience, with sloping pyramid sides, to prevent shipping on anything but the base. Even though the case is marked fragile, the sculptures are made of high-fired stoneware, and are .75 inch thick. A light hammer will not break this material, which is the same tensile strength as cast iron. The University that return shipped it to me secured at my demand, a written underwriting of the same amount ($3,600) for which I shipped it to them, and then paid the additional fee of $36 for that insurance. Yet Fedex says they will pay me only $500 after they made that written and oral contract. That is fraud. I specifically agreed to let the University ship with Fedex only after getting underwriting assurance guaranteed. That is a contract. I refuse to accept their pittence token amount. This is their way of doing business, according to the letter I received from them . It states that they have the right to revise the insurance amount by calling this crated shipment an "envelope", and then referring to regulations about "envelopes". (see that letter and other documents the FC link below) A critical matter that you should know about this is that in addition to whatever terrible force this crate was subjected to, it arrived with the helmets repacked in different materials than it was sent in, and the stacking order was also different from illustrated instructions the University followed. In fact, the intact helmets would not fit in the case in the order in which they were stacked. So, obviously, at some point during shipment Fedex opened the crate, repacked and continued shipment with improperly packaged (and apparently already broken) contents. Otherwise, I believe the helmets may have survived the incredibly brutal treatment they received. Nonetheless, such tremendous trauma as was required to do such damage is not the way you want your valuable treated. A new development is that it has been pointed out to me that the case may have been pried open with a crowbar. There have been many cases of empty envelopes and cases arriving because the contents were stolen by FedEx employees with criminal records. Another case involves a Fedex vehicle that had a collision in which most of the vehicle's contents were destroyed, and the driver was arrested for being above the blood alcohol limits! If you are contemplating sending valuables like these sculptures, or computers, cameras, stereos, etc.(which are much more fragile), you should heed this warning and choose DHL, UPS, or the Postal services, all of which I have used regularly in the past 25 years and had fine results with. All three will replace items for the value they are insured for. If you pay for that security and peace of mind, you should get what you pay for. Not some arbitrarily rearranged take it or leave it 10% offer!

That is the Evidence. FedEx "Insurance" Trust, and "Integrity", is a Fraud. They are cheats, and careless package handlers. Could I say that if it were not true?
Now, as for the Art itself, these are Portrait Helmets (and one Selbst-Sturzhelm) which means "self-portrait helmet". They were my best and most important artwork. I kept them to show and exhibit, worldwide, but more importantly, because they were all a series of portraits of friends and professors who influenced me a lot during post graduate studies. I created them for a ritual ceremony called "The Procession Ceremony" in which a gallery was filled with hay, and each portrait subject wore their respective helmet into the gallery and mounted it on a stake on the wall. It was the first time all twelve helmets were united in one place. It was filmed, and to make a "very long thesis and dissertation short", the intention was for all of us to reunite every ten years to repeat the "Procession Ceremony" with stand-ins as need be, until none of us remained alive. Then the helmets would be historical artifacts of what is most critically missing in modern industrial societies: rituals of identity, and the positive integrating effects thereof. I wish I had been able to explain that so simply when I was first struggling to write it many years ago. That is the concept, more concise than I have ever stated it. This is not Magic Island whoring. It is Art. Special holy gifts. The fact that I have never sold one from the original series in over 18 years (only others, made later, that were not in the ceremony) indicates how important they were to me. Now Fedex has stolen them from my history, and in at least a small way, all human history with this fraud. They sell faith and security, as the Native Americans say, "like white man sells everything, including themselves". . . with no honor whatsoever. And in that regard, I have other websites about this atrocity located in 6 places around the world, and I hear from hundreds of people each month who have been hurt and devastated by Fedex under similar circumstances. Apparently, since becoming a verb in English, Fedex feels their image is now too indelible to stain, but nobody can assume that with the Internet at the command of individuals. So, please link this page anywhere, and help pass this story around the world to prevent Fedex from doing such destruction, dishonor, and harm to your friends, family, businesses, and colleagues!

There are two instances collected so far indicating that FedEx vehicles were involved in accidents and the drivers were charged for DWI. In one of these instances, almost all the contents of the vehicle were destroyed!

A computer packed in a manufacturer's carton with rigid molded foam arrives crushed to one third the original size of the metal tower case. That requires TONS of force! Many instances of manufactured computers arriving opened, and the hard drive, CD/Rom, Ram, or other components removed. One instance of a modem arriving in a shipping envelope with tire tracks on the outside, and nothing but small pieces inside! THEY RAN OVER IT WITH THE TRUCK ! Also, we have just received a photo of computer RAM that was similarly modified by a FedEx truck! click here to see it!

WORSE: over one million documented cases of envelopes and boxes arriving EMPTY and SEALED annually. You understand what that means, right? The contents were STOLEN by Fedex employees. Statistically, a package of small valuables like watches or jewelry have a greater than 20% chance of being stolen by FedEx employees. The next news item will explain this one.

No wonder there are so many "empty envelopes" delivered each year! Now, there is w new FedEx scam: DRUG SMUGGLING. Because FedEx has paid off and bribed customs officials worldwide to avoid "annoying bureaucratic time delays", customs officials let FedEx shipments pass UNINSPECTED. Therefore, the duties and taxes are not being paid, which means your government is also getting ripped off of billions in tax revenues. Worse, now the underpaid FedEx employees have realized this "unofficial customs exemption" represents an OPPORTUNITY to smuggle drugs into your country, and this is happening worldwide via FedEx bribed "immunity" from the eyes of law enforcement
